All of our accommodations are clean, well maintained and always in the best possible locations. In each destination you will have clean bathrooms, clean sheets and comfy beds. Every spot we stay is close to all the attractions around that location. Depending on the given location, our accommodation style will vary from beachside bungalows to hotels. We have explored all of the accommodations in each place we visit to ensure we are staying in the most exclusive accommodations possible.
Trains, planes, and automobiles! We bus, we fly, we boat, and we have our own private transport. Needless to say, we roll in style.
Rio de Janeiro is one of the most breathtaking cities in the world, and it will be our first and last stop on our Brazil adventure. This city is constantly beaming with life, and there are endless activities to enjoy. Brazilians are reputed for being some of the happiest people on earth, and this is quite clear when you visit Rio. Stroll along the white sand beaches and watch the locals playing soccer and volleyball in g-strings and speedos, the classic Brazilian beachwear.
Some of the highlights here are hiking up to the famous Christo statue which towers over Rio, renting a surfboard and tackling the waves, and taking a tour of one of the local favelas. We will also be flying high over the city as we hang-glide our way from the mountains onto the beach. Be sure to save some energy for after dark, because Rio's nightlife is unbelievable, and the clubs here will keep you dancing until dawn, literally.
We hop on a flight to arrive at our next stop, Destination 2. A mind-blowing spectacle, these are a series of 275 waterfalls. With 5 times the volume of Niagara Falls, they are the largest waterfalls on earth. You can literally see the cloud of mist created from the falls from 3 kilometers away. We will be crossing the border into Argentina for the day, where we go rafting to get right up into these amazing falls! The falls are inside the National park, which borders Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. This National park is teaming with wildlife, such as colorful toucans and macaws, and the coati, a raccoon-like creature that is considered the local mascot.
Back to the beach... This remote location is host to a wide array of activities, such as surfing, sand-boarding, wakeboarding, kite-surfing, waterfall hikes, paragliding, and let's not forget the beach and the nightlife. Outdoor nightclubs and beach bonfire parties with live DJs, these parties are not to be missed. With a huge lake on one side, the Atlantic Ocean on the other side, and massive sand dunes right next door, the possibilities here are endless. Join the locals on the world class beaches, grab an ice cold beverage from a local vendor, kick back, and enjoy the Brazilian lifestyle. Every day we either have planned activities or suggested ones. The Beach Travellers concept is that this is your trip and you can make what you want of it, so you're always free to do your own thing. There are endless discoveries to be made on these journeys, so feel free to explore.
Draped with the rich flora of the Mata Atlantica (Atlantic rain forest), the peaks of Serra do Mar provide a dramatic, emerald green backdrop to the winding coastline. There is a wide variety of extreme sports here, such as rafting, surfing, sky diving, paragliding, and canoeing. At the beaches you can try beach volleyball, tennis, soccer, cricket, jet skiing, water skiing, fishing, and some of the best scuba diving in the country. This town is also the Brazilian capital of surfing, with some of the best waves in the country.
This location has dazzled visitors for centuries. Some 150km southwest of Rio de Janeiro, this is Brazil's third-largest island. The tropical scenery and gorgeous beaches here will blow your mind, and the fact that there are no cars gives the island a truly isolated feel. Its hillsides are covered in lush forests, important remnants of the rapidly disappearing Mata Atlantica ecosystem. We could go on all day about this little paradise, which is one of Brazil.s best kept secrets.
We return back to our first location for a few last nights together before we all go our separate ways. It.s always sad to see everyone leave, but the memories and new friendships we have all built along the way remain with us for years to come.
