Driving through Costa Rica is a blast. Sure, the scenery is breathtaking and the animals are everywhere, but the real thrill is in the roads themselves. I guess you can call them roads.. although sometimes it's more like a pile of rocks, a cow field or a 3 ft deep river.

We've been navigating these "roads" for years now on our Costa Rica adventure travel trips and Costa Rica surf camps, and BT's guides know them better than they know their hometown streets. However, no matter how many times we drive through the jungles of Costa Rica, every road trip is a totally new adventure, with new rivers to cross, potholes to maneuver around, or herds of cattle to move off the road.

The driving in CR is a trip highlight, and we want to make sure our groups can enjoy these roller coaster rides. We always roll in comfortable SUVs and vans with AC and nothing but the best suspension, music pumping the whole way. Guaranteed a 4 hour drive will fly by, and if you're not marvelling out the window at the natural beauty of the place, you'll be laughing your face off with your fellow travellers at the so-called "roads". Just be prepared to get out and push!
