best jobs with beach travellers

Beach Travellers is hiring, and as a growing company, new jobs are opening up regularly. The perks of working for BT? Travelling, meeting new people, organizing and attending parties and events, spreading the word, helping the company grow. All fun things with plenty of rewards.

To help paint a better picture of life in the BT office, we decided to profile a few employees, to give them a chance to tell their story and how working for BT has affected their lives. Let's start with our French connection, Mitch Martin from Montreal, QC.

What do you do with BT?

A bit of everything actually. I manage & guide the Surf Camp Costa Rica trips, help with marketing, social media, and event planning. Basically I just meet great people and have fun.

So, life's a beach?

Umm.. yep. Here in Montreal it's more of a skating rink right now, but I was in Costa Rica last week and will be heading back in spring. So yeah, the beach is never far away.

Best story since working with BT?

That's a tough one. It's pretty much laughs and pranks everyday... I guess it would be the time in Costa Rica when I watched some of the girls put tabasco sauce in Graeme's speedo before he put it on. I've never seen anyone run into the ocean that fast.

Weirdest experience?

Probably my research mission into to the far Eastern islands of Indonesia, while planning the "beyond" part of BT's "Bali & Beyond" trip. Drinking strange liquor from a water bottle with some locals at a bus stop. My vision went really foggy and I was sure I was about to go blind. Then I had to climb onto the roof of the bus to strap my surfboard down and there were live goats and pigs tied to the roof all around me. It was like a really strange dream.

Describe working with BT in 5 words or less.

The company is called Beach Travellers. Actually that's 6 words, but it sums it up pretty well I think.

Most meaningful experience while guiding a trip?

Every trip, showing travellers my favourite parts of Costa Rica and seeing the amazement in their eyes. The place is just so beautiful, it's unreal. I've been going there for 10 years now, so I love showing them the best parts and introducing them to some great friends of mine there. And seeing the look on their faces when they catch their first wave. That's priceless.

What's next?

Exploring new places, discovering new surf spots, meeting new people. You never know what's next with BT. That's the best part.
