Earlier this week, BT founders Graeme & TJ were invited to Vancouver's Urban Rush TV show to tell the BT story.. So they accepted, threw on some proper-looking clothes, trimmed the beards and headed to the studio to talk travel. Check out their interview, and let us know what you think!

Over the past month we have handed out 22 "Golden Tickets" to various people across the map. Unfortunately there won't be any chocolate-factory tours, instead these 22 contestants will be battling it out online for the next 2 weeks, until one person walks away with the grand prize: a free Beach Travellers trip of their choice along with a bunch of gear from Spy & DC.
Here's the thing: we are not deciding who wins, you are.
From today until April 15th, we will have 4 online "challenges" in which our contestants will post various stuff on our wall & blog, and everyone will vote ("like") these posts. It will be an elimination process, in which people's votes will decide who moves on to the next round and (sadly) who doesn't. So if one of your friends is a Golden Ticket holder, show your support by "liking" their posts and helping them move closer to the grand prize. If you don't know any of these people, just vote for whoever you think should win.
Here are the details on the 4 challenges:
#1 - APRIL 1 - 4. ALL ABOUT MUSIC
Contestants post a youtube link to a great music track. Everyone votes. 11 people move on.
#2 - April 5- 7. GIVE US A SLOGAN
Contestants post a good slogan for Beach Travellers. Everyone votes. 6 people move on.
#3 - April 8 - 10. LET'S SEE SOME PICS
Contestants post a great/inspiring/funny travel photo. Everyone votes. 3 people move on.
#4 - April 12 - 15. THE FINAL STRETCH
Last 3 contestants will post a short write-up on why they should win. Everyone votes & comments. 1 point per vote, 2 points per comment. Most points wins!
All of this will be happening on our Facebook page here so make sure to visit the page and put your votes in!
Everyone at BT has a different story, and everyone that joined the company did so for the right reasons, just a deep-down love for travel and adventure. In this weekly "Best Jobs in the World" feature, we're interviewing some of our staff to see how they got involved with BT. Here is Candice Claassen's story, BT Costa Rica guide, internet marketing wizard, and surf-chica extraordinaire.
So how did you first hear about Beach Travellers?
I was going to class at UBC one day and I saw a Beach Travellers info booth with a couple of surfer-looking dudes sitting behind it, so I was naturally drawn there.
How exactly did you get involved with BT?
I chatted it up with the surfer dudes at the booth, and said that I was good at web-design and I knew how to surf. They saw I was keen and got me to help with some promoting at UBC, which eventually turned into me helping with online marketing and web-design.
How did you end up being a Costa Rica guide?
I work remotely, so I was in Costa Rica once just surfing and working online, and I met up with a BT surf camp and really liked their style of trip. Just a nice group of people, all learning to surf together and having tons of fun. The guides seemed to have a dream job. I spoke some Spanish, could surf, and had been to Costa Rica a few times, so I applied for a guiding job and I guess I got lucky.
What work do you currently do for Beach Travellers?
Web development, internet marketing, marketing consulting, and I help guide in Costa Rica a few times a year. I live in Argentina now and I'm always happy to fly up there, surf and travel with the BT crew.
