All of our accommodations are clean, well maintained and in the greatest possible locations. In each destination you will always have clean bathrooms, clean sheets and comfy beds. Every place we stay in is close to all the hotspots around that location. Depending on the location, our accommodation style ranges from beachside bungalows to hotels with A/C. We have explored every town thoroughly to ensure we are staying in the most exclusive accommodations possible.
Travel days should be fun, scenic, and comfortable, not sweaty and stressful. We travel in comfortable minivans with A/C, rental SUVs and private boat charters, so you can kick back, grab an icy drink, and enjoy the ride.
Tamarindo
This is our first and last stop, and it's only an hour from the airport, so you can drop your bags off and hit the pool, beach, bar, (or bed) an hour after you have landed. This town has plenty of delicious restaurants, and the beach is great for surfing. Did we mention that the nightlife here is one of the country's best?
Monteverde
We drive up to an altitude of 3500 feet to spend 2 nights in this quiet mountain town, nestled in a beautiful National Park. This is where we embark on Costa Rica's highest and longest zip-line tour. You'll be flying along a cable 800 feet off the ground over lush green valleys.. pretty amazing. It is the best zip line tour in the country and the most professionally organized, with safe professional canopy tour operators.
The drive up though these mountains is absolutely breathtaking, and the sleepy mountain village will give you a good feel for what locals call pura vida.
Manuel Antonio
This small beach town, which is surrounded by a National park, combines stunning rain forests, exuberant wildlife and amazing waves in one location. Both inside and outside the park there are a series of small half-moon beaches and bays surrounded by luscious rainforest, which will give you a chance to get back on the surf board and will also be the back drop for our white water adventure. Our guides have researched several rivers throughout the area and have found the perfect spot to cruise the jungle and get your adrenaline pumping too!
Montezuma
This town's charming centre has the ambiance of a continuous mellow party, with people constantly walking around, relaxing and chatting amongst each other. Just sit down for a drink at a bar or eatery and watch the scene. Local rastafarians with eccentric tattoos, international artists selling their crafts, and travellers from all over the globe get together here to enjoy the unmistakable chilled-out vibrations.
The tropical beauty of this place is mind-blowing, and there are monkeys everywhere! During our time here we visit a series of incredible waterfalls, and we take a boat trip to a secluded island and its surrounding reefs for a day. The white sand beaches along this stretch of coast are totally untouched and pristine. At night, it's either to the town's only bar, Chico's, for some great music and dancing, or to the beach for a bonfire and moonlit swimming.
Mal Pais
This town has become a trendy new travel destination in Costa Rica, mostly attracting surfers and the hip younger crowds, due to its great waves, broad sandy beaches and dramatic sunsets.
The pristine beaches here stretch as far as the eye can see, and there are great waves all along, so you can always have the surf to yourself. This is where we like to rent ATVs and rip through the jungle, across rivers, and on the beach. At sunset, everybody heads to the beach with a cold beverage to soak it all in and watch the surfers catch the last waves of the day. After dark, the entire town heads to the only beach bar for the infamous reggae nights.
Tamarindo
Back to where our journey began. We spend our last 2 days here, a great place to grab some local souvenirs to bring home, or to sit by the pool and get as roasted as possible before taking off. On our final day, we board an 80ft catamaran and cruise along the coast for 5 hours, do some snorkelling, enjoy the sunset, and share laughs and memories from our 15 days together (did we mention the delicious food and open bar that are part of the cruise?).
