BEHIND THE SCENES

Raised on the frigid planet we call Edmonton, Alberta, I constantly dreamed of the day I could escape to excitement and warmer climates. The opportunity didn't arrive until the year I finished college, when I decided to quit fantasizing and do something about it. After some research and suggestions from friends, I decided on Thailand. It looked so unique, and I didn't just want a beach to lay on; I wanted my mind to be blown. Little did I know, I was about to be completely transformed. Upon arrival in Thailand, everything hit me at once: the sights, sounds, smells, landscape, food, nightlife and completely laid-back vibe were like nothing I had seen before. I could barely get my mind around the fact that I was thousands of miles from home climbing waterfalls, riding elephants, petting tigers, tossing a frisbee at sunset on a perfect beach with baby-powder sand, and interacting with the amazing Thai people. All of it seeped into every pore; I was completely swept away, and it changed me forever. After exploring the country, I already had planned a return trip, and spent a solid part of the next year travelling south-east Asia. As unreal as the experience was, I found myself the most attached to the memories that Thailand had etched into my brain. Now I'm blessed with the opportunity to show you this amazing country, and hopefully provide you with the same life-changing experience I had years ago. My mind is still blown every day that I wake and walk out into this surreal atmosphere, and I can't wait to see the look on your faces when you see it all for yourself. So get ready: Thailand and I are waiting for you!

BEHIND THE SCENES

I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and have a real experience, not just a vacation. So I decided to visit Thailand. If only I had known how much it was going to transform me. There was so much to see and do and I wanted to do it all! From amazing temples, kayaking, rock climbing and hiking, to riding elephants and petting tigers, I was there. I fell in love with the most beautiful beaches with fine white sands and clear calm waters that transform into night clubs and stages for fire spinning after dark.  The secluded towns give you a taste of the rich Thai culture, not to mention the amazing Thai food. I have never been to a place where everybody is so easy going and genuinely happy. Thailand showed me not just new places and sites, but an amazing new philosophy of life. I think it is this great attitude that makes Thailand so amazingly unique. It’s hard to find someone on their way home that isn’t already planning a visit back to this beautiful country. I now have the joy of calling Thailand a second home. But even more exciting, is sharing that joy with everyone. If you're heading to Thailand, you have no idea what’s in store for you but I assure you when the end comes, you won’t want to leave. You will want to stay for the Thai massages alone! Every journey starts with one step. See you soon...BOOMA!

BEHIND THE SCENES

Coming from a small town in southern Ontario where there wasn’t much going on, I started to find myself yearning for something new and adventurous. This is when I started going on annual trips to Mexico, but the one week “spring break” trips just were not fulfilling enough for me. I had seen pictures from one of my friends’ trito Thailand and was completely blown away by what I saw, and it inspired me to do the same. Still a little unsure about travelling across the world with no real travel experience, I came across the “Beach Travellers” website and decided right away. Not even a month later, a friend and I were on our long journey across the world about to embark on what truly became a life changing experience.

What was supposed to be a one month triturned into a seven month journey around Southeast Asia, but somehow I kept finding myself back in Thailand. There’s something about this country that makes it so hard to leave and so easy to call it my home away from home. It has so much to offer from its crazy and exciting cities that never seem to slee, to the lush jungles filled with exotic plants and animals surrounded by gigantic limestone cliffs, to its white sand beaches with warm turquoise blue waters. The food is some of the best tasting on this planet, with so many different flavours, colors and smells it’s something I could never get tired of. But the one thing that makes me feel so comfortable here is the people. Thai people are one of the most kind and warm hearted I have ever met, always greeting everyone with a smile and open arms, and Thai people will never forget a face.

The beauty of this country never ceases to amaze me and getting work here as a tour guide for Beach Travellers is truly a blessing. The feeling I get when visiting different locations with a grouand seeing the look on their faces when experiencing it for the first time always reminds me of my first Beach Travellers triand puts a giant grin on my face. Its all here waiting for you , including the Beach Travellers family with open arms !

BEHIND THE SCENES

Thailand, ahh the land of freedom and smiles.

My travel bug all started when I took off after highschool and moved to Europe to see what this world had to offer. I saw amazing things in this continent, some that changed the worlds history and marked major events that have shaped the world today. But one magazine on one short flight changed my history, and future in travel when I saw an article about Thailand. As soon as I saw those sandy white beaches, and breath taking views of limestone walls creeping on the waters edge, I pointed at the picture and said 'Thats where I need to be'Next thing, I jumon a plane and take the long journey to the place that has changed my look on life, culture and travel.

Theres an itch I get everytime I wake to a new day in this land, I always want more and can't wait for the next adventure coming my way. Being an activity junkie, theres ends upon ends of spectaculuar and adrenaline joys out here to do. White water rafting, rock climbing, scuba diving, snorkleing, hiking, and then theres the shopping, the food, the atmosphere, the peolple! I could go on and on about all the amazing things this wonderful country has to offer, but now we want you to see it all!

Givin this experience and having this employment is a dream, and taken seriously, for this is what I want to do. Nothing gets me more excited and honoured that we get to share this life altering feeling and adventure with others like you. Time stops when you come upon this land, for theres no stress, no pressure, just you, the beach and endless inspiration. It's all here waiting for you, and I look forward to sharing nothing but the best in the land of smiles!!

BEHIND THE SCENES

I was born in Calgary and started to travel after high school. I stumbled upon Thailand from reading travel magazines about how Thailand in five years will be the "it" destination for travelers. I saw the movie the Beach and once again got inspired to buy a plane ticket. Two months later I had plane ticket in hand, I knew I was about to embark on something I haven’t experienced yet in life. A month after the triall I could think about was getting back to Asia. It was then I became an International Tour Guide. I have found my true passion in life, and now I want to share it with you! I have been to many places in the world and seen some amazing things, but my heart is with South East Asia, not a day passes that I don’t read from my well established collection of guide books, the word “Thailand” rolls for my mouth so much that people have started to make jokes about “Thailand this, and Thailand that!” The thing is they know….they have been, and once you know, you know….you know? (haha)
The land of the smiles and the land of freedom await you. I have completely submersed my life into this job; I wake ueveryday in Asia and can’t wait to get started. Riding elephants, visiting orphanages, river-rafting, house-boating, rock climbing, the shopping, the food, the people, the feelings, petting tigers, swimming, snorkelling, the nightlife, the live-music, the sand, and the sun, are really only a few things, that flash my vision before I stand.
The other Beach Travellers guides and I could go on about Thailand for hours and days. The thing that we all share is a love for the countries we work in, and our job as a whole package. Nothing strikes me as being better employment than guiding……Nothing. Being Sponsored by Reef clothing and Spy sunglasses is a plus too! Beach Travellers and I want to show you these places with a relaxed feel and the time to let it all soak in. So in ending, I truly look forward to meeting you! Choke Dee Krup. (Cheers).

BEHIND THE SCENES

I've camped around Australia, hitchhiked through New Zealand, surfed in Hawaii, and have had a more than enough cervesas in Mexico. Those were some of the best times of my life, then, I made it to Thailand.

Thailand is like nothing else, it blew me away, it could've been the white sandy beaches, the remote destinations, the jungles, all the activities like snorkeling, kayaking, jungle treks, amazing temples, the unforgettable nightlife, I could go on and on.  But one of the reasons that drew me to go back was how kind, friendly, and helpful all the Thai people were. Also even though it's a 2nd world country, not once did I feel threatened, nervous, or scared.

It is such a relaxed lifestyle when you're there. Daily worries and stresses just disappear in this free atmosphere. The hardest decisions you make are simply lifting a hand to scratch your head and wonder, what amazing meal shall I have next?
Buying my ticket to Thailand was the best spur of the moment decision I’ve ever made.  The only regret I have when I think about my time there is that I didn't have more people to share it with, and now I have that chance. I'm a very fortunate person to be able to share my love of Thailand with you. These trips will be like unlike anything you have ever experienced before. If I have anything to do with it, you'll be planning your next tribefore you leave this one.

BEHIND THE SCENES

I grew uon the coast of British Columbia, staring out at the Pacific Ocean wondering where in the world I would one day end up. I remember my parents going away quite a few times bringing back Asian gifts and pictures of a world that I only knew about by reading their huge collection of National Geographic magazines. I worked a job during high school to save uenough to follow in my families’ footsteps and go travel to the unknown. After graduating, I left on an excursion that has forever changed my life and formed what I have now become. Influenced by a well-travelled family and an ever-growing curiosity, I left the town I grew uin and jumped on a plane to the unknown wonders of South East Asia. My intentions were to seek an adventure that would open my eyes and anxious mind to what every young aspiring traveller looks for: freedom and a hell of an adventure.

I began exploring Thailand and quickly fell in love with the beauty, the smells, the food, the language but above all was the feeling that it gave me. Among the sensory overload, I felt an incredible sense of harmony, love, and freedom in my heart. The emotions were so honest and genuine and possibilities were so endless that it kindled an ever-growing fire inside me to immerse myself in its culture and become a part of this incredible country.

For the past four years I have studied the language and searched deeinto the culture to design the trips that we now run through Thailand. We have picked locations based on what would be the most ideal for travellers whom were looking for something alike what I was seeking. The route slowly materialized and now is what I believe is the ultimate travelling experience.

While guiding, I love feeding off of people’s energy when exposed to something new. I familiarize this feeling to a baby seeing his first tree looking ufrom their stroller, people light uand express such genuine gratification of the beauty of their surroundings. This gratification is instantly absorbed and brings me that same feeling I had when I first was exposed to such astonishing places and people. I’ve witnessed the growth of countless people due to the warmth and genuine emotions of the Thai people that has been carved deeinto their culture through the gentleness and compassion of Buddhism.

I feel blessed and honored be able to open peoples minds and spirits to such an amazing country. I look forward to sharing incredible life-changing experiences with you.
